Gosfield Lake hosted the fourth annual CSS Charitable Trust Golf Day on Friday 30th September. 104 golfers competed in teams of four, playing an 18-hole stableford. The winning Team was captained by Frank Caulfield, scoring 118 points, closely followed by the runners up captained by Dave Wightman.
The individual winner was Dean John, playing off a handicap of 14, with a final score of 39 points, with Steve Ross coming in second, playing off 24, with 38 points.
Prizes were also given for nearest the pins, the longest drive and a putting competition.
A raffle and a small auction, hosted by guest Pro, Steve Bottomley PGA, contributed to the impressive sum of £8202 being raised.
The CSS Charitable Trust was established in 2013 by William (Liam) Gleeson, the CEO of CSS Recruitment and Training. CSS has been based in Braintree for over 22 years and the trust was set up to support worthy causes in the Braintree District.
