CSS take the honours!!!
CSS Celtic in only their second year in existence were one of the biggest winners at the Braintree Sunday League AGM and presentation evening recently. They won division one and completed a double by winning The Malcolm Foy Trophy. They also won ‘Giant-Killers’ of the season and capped off a great campaign by being chosen TEAM of the YEAR.

The CSS Charitable Trust was recently presented with a cheque from Darren Liversidge at Notley Golf Club.
Darran nominated the CSS Charitable Trust as his chosen charity for his captaincy of the Club. Darren organised several golf events to raise funds throughout the year and the cheque for £3,500 was presented to two of our Trustee’s at the Captains Drive in on Sunday 2nd April. A BIG thank you to Darren and all that took part with his fundraising.

Funding Applications July 2017
Following a recent meeting of the Trustees, we are pleased to advise the following applications were granted funds.
Previous funding has helped
Brookin collapsed with a spinal cord at age 30 and is paralysed from the waist down. His family are desperately trying to raise £80K for stem cell treatment in the USA - Awarded £10,000.
In May 2016 we donated to help pay for local little boy’s physio sessions. Brogan was born 9 weeks premature and suffered a inter cranial haemorrhage which led to perventricular leuklomalacia and quadriplegia cerebral palsy. His family are raising funds for Brogan to attend regular weekly “Spider Therapy” sessions that focuses on improving the strength in his lower limbs, core strength and stability. – Awarded a further £2,500.
Four year old Jacob has grade 4 cancer. His family are raising £100k for Jacob to have the Nueroblastoma vaccine in America. – Awarded £5,000

Guidelines for Applicants
Who we are
- The CSS Charitable Trust was established in 2013 to support worthy causes in the Braintree District.
Who and what we fund/our themes
- The Trust welcomes applications from individuals, properly constituted voluntary organisations and charities that operate in the Braintree District.
- Particular groups that the Trust will consider applications to support include: children/young people, the elderly, people with disabilities, ex-offenders, the homeless, education, the arts, relief from domestic violence, ex-services, mental health, and rural issues.
- The majority of our grants will be in the region of £500 to £3,000.
What we do not fund
- General appeals
- Political or religious projects
- Research costs
- Overseas travel
How to apply
- Complete the application form and email it to email@example.com or by post to CSS House, 10-12 Manor Street, Braintree, Essex CM7 3HP.
- Current deadlines are 31 January and 31 July each year.
What happens next
- We will contact you if we require any further information prior to the Trustee meeting.
- You will be informed of the Trustee’s decision within four weeks of the deadline date.

PUTTING CHARITY FIRST
Gosfield Lake hosted the fourth annual CSS Charitable Trust Golf Day on Friday 30th September. 104 golfers competed in teams of four, playing an 18-hole stableford. The winning Team was captained by Frank Caulfield, scoring 118 points, closely followed by the runners up captained by Dave Wightman.
The individual winner was Dean John, playing off a handicap of 14, with a final score of 39 points, with Steve Ross coming in second, playing off 24, with 38 points.
Prizes were also given for nearest the pins, the longest drive and a putting competition.
A raffle and a small auction, hosted by guest Pro, Steve Bottomley PGA, contributed to the impressive sum of £8202 being raised.
The CSS Charitable Trust was established in 2013 by William (Liam) Gleeson, the CEO of CSS Recruitment and Training. CSS has been based in Braintree for over 22 years and the trust was set up to support worthy causes in the Braintree District.
