We are currently recruiting for a main contractor who specialises in all forms of Roofing, External and Internal Refurbishment.
Your role will involve surveying all types of properties for roof replacement and repair works. Measure & calculate rates for estimating, labour targeting, and finalising work values. Monitor & control cost information and prepare valuations to advise on profit performance of contract and ensure prompt payment. Manage contract to achieve contented productive workforce, minimised cost, satisfied customers, maximised added value & profit.
Main Responsibilities
Assist the Contract Managers with preparing Preliminary Budgets for Director approval and targeting
Prepare and agree subcontract final accounts
Release retentions as appropriate in liaison with Managing Surveyor
Fully monitor all costs for the project including preliminaries, design fees, utility fees, subcontract and materials
Measure subcontractors work where appropriate, maintaining proper records, marked up drawings and complete payment certificate in accordance with the pre-agreed payment terms, liaising with Site Managers and Contract Managers in respect of quality of work
Ensure Contract Managers and Site Managers are kept informed of the financial position in respect of both cost and value
Prepare with the Contract Manager contractual claims where appropriate, liaising closely with the Managing Surveyor
Agree a clear division of responsibilities with the Contract Manager in respect to correspondence and records to support contractual claims
Attend regular internal / external project and subcontract meetings
Experience, Skills & Requirements
To be commercially aware
Training and experience in JCT Forms of Contracts and recent updates, along with awareness of NEC and PPC2000 contractual obligations
Working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor for a minimum of five years
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritise own workload, deal with conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines
Ability to show tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills. With a good understanding of Word, Excel and Outlook

Good understanding of Word, Excel and Outlook
Full / clean driving licence
