Who Is This Course Designed For:

This half day course is suitable for anyone who examines, refurbishes fills or uses a gas cylinder as part of their jobs and will provide them with an understanding of the risks associated with gas cylinders and their contents.

The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 have fully updated the legislation which effectively implements the requirements of the European agreement concerning the carriage of dangerous goods (ADR). The Department for Transport (DfT) is the UK "Competent Authority" and the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) administers the system for the appointment of bodies for the conformity assessment and periodic inspection of Transportable Pressure Equipment.

Gas Cylinders are filled with gas held under high pressure; if a cylinder discharges or ruptures the damage is likely to be considerable. All those that handle gas cylinders should be trained in the safe handling of cylinders in accordance with Manual Handling Regulations 1992.
