We are seeking an exceptional Caretaker / Site Manager to join our clients friendly and dedicated team.
You’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and vibrant environment where children can thrive and staff can do their best work. From day-to-day maintenance to bigger improvement projects, this is a role where your skills will be valued, and where no two days are ever the same.
This is a full-time position of 32 hours per week, but they are open to discussing flexible working patterns with the right candidate.
What You'll Be Doing
Act as a key holder, including responding to out-of-hours alarms
Open and secure the school buildings daily, no evening lettings required
Take the lead in planning and managing maintenance and cleaning schedules
Oversee the cleaning team and manage supplies and equipment
Monitor heating, water systems, and safety compliance in partnership with leadership
Carry out day-to-day repairs, such as plumbing, decorating, and minor works
Support small building projects and oversee external contractors
Keep the school site safe, functional, and well-presented throughout the year
What We're Looking For
Hands-on experience in building / site maintenance or facilities management
Great practical skills and confidence to carry out minor repairs
Organised, dependable, and able to manage your own workload
Health & safety knowledge and a proactive, can-do attitude
Strong communication skills across the school community
Experience in a school or similar environment
Basic trade qualifications
Enthusiasm for creating a safe and inspiring space for children to learn

Working hours are typically 6am – 9:15am and 2:15pm – 5:30pm Monday to Thursday, finishing at 5pm on Fridays – but they are happy to discuss alternative patterns.
